I .. I don’t really have a post for you today. In saying that, I mean that I don’t have a nice coherent thought with which to base an entire post off of, so .. I thought about posting a picture.
Or two.
And instead following-up some open-ended posts that haven’t been closed yet.
Cause I be a lazy sumamagun.
In this post, I talked about scaling back our cable options to save money. I talked to Bryan about it and he didn’t even need persuading (GULP), so I guess I had to make good on my bluff. So when I called to see the prices, I learned that our internet was costing us $65 a month. Basic (non digital) cable would bring that total to $75. So, an extra ten bucks for cable? Not worth cutting back. (Bryan agreed.) So I called in this week to schedule the downgrade in service, and they offered a new price for our package .. as-is .. at $80 a month. So we’re keeping digital cable and STILL saving $30 a month. Just by asking. Hm. Lesson learned.
In this post, I asked how you celebrate the 2nd birthday and what milestones you associate with it. Yeah, so, obviously, we had a party, but it was VERY small and limited to almost-immediate family. And? While it wasn’t horrible, it still was a stress I wish we hadn’t undertaken. It was great to see the family, but Tony was WAY overwhelmed and was quite a terror through most of the party. Aunt Gee saved the day. With potato chips.
In this post, I talked about the recipes I was going to make for Thanksgiving. I did, in fact, make ALL of those recipes. I didn’t try a single slice of Bakerella’s pie (in all honesty, I didn’t have many sweets over the holiday), but it made MUCH more than I anticipated, and I actually sent an entire pie home with Jack for his Thanksgiving at his BioMom’s house. Related: I tweeted this, and some twitter lady TORE ME A NEW ASSHOLE for being so rude and thoughtless and completely berated me for my “selfish” actions. Dude, seriously? Anyway, everything turned out awesome, and there was entirely too much food, and we gorged on it for almost a week straight.
In this post, I talked about my new goal for eliminating our debt and how Dave Ramsey was going to get me there. A friend of mine (thanks, Other Sarah!) read the Rice & Beans post and alerted me that Dave was having a special in his online store, so I scooped up two copies of his Total Money Makeover and two deluxe envelope systems for under $50. Bryan and I have been reading a chapter a night of the book and have converted to a cash only system. IT SUCKS AND IT IS SO HARD, but? It’s REALLY nice to feel so in control. Even today, I declined a lunch date with my team (SUSHI!) because cash was running low for the week. Could’ve used plastic, but did I? NO.
In this post, I admitted I don’t get the whole Team Edward thing. I still don’t. Thank God some of you don’t either.
In this post, I talked about not sleeping because my child LOVES WANDERING now that he’s in a big boy bed. Y’all were MASTERFUL with the help; newly acquired baby gate keeps him safely in his room. And honestly? Most of the time that he gets up and sees the gate in place? He closes his door and goes back to sleep. He’s doing MUCH better with the transition, mostly because y’all are FRICKIN’ GENIUSES.
In this post, I talked about some Early-New-Year/December Resolutions. While I’ve been keeping good on the “No water once I’ve gotten home from work” one, I’ve pretty much sucked at all of the rest of them. I definitely have sucked at my initial “Lose 4-5 lbs” one. In fact, I’ve gained. Because I suck. Because I don’t hold myself accountable.
Lastly, in this post, I talked about holding myself accountable. I have not run since I wrote that post. I keep thinking I will, but it’s so cold, and it’s been raining, and I’m TIRED. That, and my running partner TOTALLY FLAKED ON ME THIS MORNING. (I say that, but he’s all, “What, you can’t run by yourself now?” and he’s sorta right. I still could’ve run. But instead crawled back into bed.)
There. That’s plenty for you to read. You’re welcome. Ingrates.
