Today was a day of pictures. I was inundated with pics from my child’s first birthday party (and since they were at it, of Thanksgiving dinner as well). You can catch the whole of them on Flickr, but let me give you some of the highlights:
First: here’s how we fit eighty million people in our living room.
I know, right? It was almost a game of sardines.
Some of the party-goers didn’t like the crowds, so they found their own spot.
An impromptu storytime corner broke out in the kitchen. Which, honestly, is where Dr. Seuss SHOULD happen.
Little ones made homemade gingerbread cookies (YES, I MADE GINGERBREAD COOKIES.. FROM SCRATCH) while the older ones ate the leftovers cleaned up behind them.
And eventually, the party just migrated to the kitchen. Which meant.. CAKE TIME!!
Naturally, he was a bit.. timid.. at first.
But, in the end, he is MY child.
Here, you can watch him in video form. It’s just one of those things you dream of.. you always WANT a baby to go into cake, face-first, because.. man.. when do you EVER get a free pass to do that again?
And because I can, random shot of Thanksgiving.
Ta da!
Many grateful and endless thanks to Zoot and BrownBabys for use of their amazing shots. I’m tired just looking at them. It’s been quite a few weeks!
