A MeMe of Fours

I have been itching to write all weekend. Know what that means? That means it’s time for our household internet to go wonky! This also happens when I have an assload of really great pictures or videos to upload, which (of course) also happened. Corrections are set to take place tomorrow afternoon, but until then, I can’t remember a damn thing I was going to talk about. I could talk about how INCREDIBLY APPREHENSIVE I am about Binja being in a new daycare this morning, but that’s probably an entire post of its own. So until then, from Zoot:

Four places I go over and over:

Publix. Since I’ve tried cooking most nights, I am ALWAYS in need of something, and their produce can’t be beat. (The kids would like me to include that they get a free cookie at the bakery counter.)
Bridge Street. For those of you not in HuntsVegas, it’s an outdoor prominade that features some REALLY high-end stores.  I can’t afford much there, but it’s a great walk and a good way to spend an evening. (The kids would like me to include that it has outdoor fountains that they’re allowed to play in.
Our local YMCA. We’ve actually done really well about spending two or three afternoons a week there.  They have a fabulous indoor pool, a great indoor walking track, and a much less intimidating weight room than my other gym.  Also: CHEAP DAYCARE.
Jason’s Deli. This is my fallback when we get to eat out (which is rare these days).  No matter what I order, it’s always GREAT, and their salad bar can’t be beat around town. (The kids would like me to include that there is free, all-you-can-eat “ice cream.”)(I put ice cream in quotes because it’s a low-fat frozen yogurt version of ice cream, but don’t tell them that.)

Four places I’d rather be right now:

Gatlinburg, TN. This time of year makes me YEARN for Gatlinburg, that kitchsy little mountain town that turns vibrant shades of autumn right about now.  Although I’ve enjoyed Gatlinburg from all sorts of lodging, my favorite would be the private chalet with the hot tub on the deck that we honeymooned at.
New Orleans, LA. It looks like I’ll be heading that way on business soon, but Bryan has never been.  I would LOVE to take him one time and spend a few (non-work) days there and show him my NOLA.  There’s a whole world outside of the French Quarter, and most of it is still suffering.
Panama City, FL. I put sunscreen on my babeh yesterday while we were on the Greenway, and the familiar smell of Water Babies made me yearn for the sand and surf.  I haven’t been in almost eight years, and I miss the ocean.
At home. This weekend was so amazing in that we had ABSOLUTELY nothing to do.  I can’t remember the last time we had that kind of weekend, and it makes me long for more of those.

Four Guilty Pleasure TV shows I watch:

The Hills - I hate to admit it.  But it makes me feel so much smarter.
Rock of Love: Charm School - Oh, the silicone!  Oh, the weave!  Oh, the mayhem!
Wife Swap - I have to admit this one is getting more and more contrived, but I still watch.
The Rachel Zoe Project - I really tried to hate this one, since it’s as vapid as The Hills, but .. it just draws me to it.

Four things I eat for breakfast:

Fresh fruit
Oatmeal
Coffee & hot chocolate mixed together
.. sadly, I don’t have a fourth option.  It’s either the above or nada.

Four animals I like best:

Dogs, but only one at a time.
Giraffes
Monkeys
Elephants

The Last Four Movies I’ve Seen:

Quarantine - LOVED IT! If you love gory thrillers, OMG, this one is SO for you!!
Indiana Jones & the Craptastic Skull of Crappiness - If you couldn’t tell, I didn’t like that one.
Sweeney Todd - I’m a diehard fan of the musical, but was pleasantly surprised.  Very good, except for Helena Bonham Carter (imho).
Juno - We are always on the pulse of the mainstream.

Four Household Items I Couldn’t Live Without

My bottle rack.  Seriously, keeps everything baby related in order.
Swiffer WetJet. I mop my house at least twice a week, and this makes short work of it.
TiVo. It helps me spend my tv time so much more wisely.
Diaper Champ. We didn’t do the Diaper Genie because the Champ takes regular garbage bags.

My Add: Four Magazines I Read Every Month

Lucky: This is where I completely drool over things I’ll never buy and can’t afford.  But drooling is fun!
Real Simple: This really and truly makes my life worth living.  I even love the kind of paper they print it on.
Us!: Because I’m trashy.
Rachel Ray Everyday: I hate her, love the magazine. She’s a lot more tolerable when I can’t hear her voice.
