How was your first Mother’s Day?
Actually, it was perfectly lovely.  And busy.  Lovely and busy.  It was a gorgeous day (albeit windy), and my father made a HUGE spread of king crab legs, shrimp, corn, and potatoes for us all to graze on.  Then Jenni and I went to Annie callbacks, where she totally kicked ass and blew me away with how talented my sister truly is.  I was all like, “Yeah!  We were in the same womb! .. at differet times.”

How’s Willie doing?
As any new puppy is, it was a bit of an adjustment.  Willie obviously has had some rough times, and is INCREDIBLY frightful.  Of anything.  And Charlie sensed his fear, and felt the need to dominate him FOR 48 HOURS STRAIGHT.  But after a few days, things calmed down.  After several walks and tons o’ love, Willie’s coming around.  He now comes in the house, he will approach us on his own, and his tail is no longer tucked between his legs.

Oh, and I had a nightmare that his other eye grew back.

How’s the baby?
Huge.

How were callbacks for you?
It’s an extremely humbling experience, to want something and then not get it.  But I’m also not retarded, so I realized early on that I was truly stretching.  I am, perhaps, a bit too young and pretty to play Miss Hannigan.  Or so I am telling myself.  In fact, in my mind, this is how the conversation went: “Sarah is so amazing, we should use her in all of the parts.” - “Of course, we can’t do that.” - “You’re right; it wouldn’t be fair to everyone else.” - “That other Brown girl was really talented.  We should use her as something.  Grace, maybe?” - “Yes, we could do that.  What about Sarah as Hannigan?” - “Hm.  I think her beauty and youth would shine through even the most persistent makeup.” - “Yes, you’re obviously right.  We can’t hide that light under a bushel.” - “So it’s agreed.  She’ll play Annie.”

So, as you can see, extremely humbling experience.

How’s the Big Fat Blog contest going?
Eh.  I did really well the first week (4.5 lbs!).  This week, I’ve only lost 2 lbs.  Every little bit helps, but I must admit that after four hours of callbacks, I climbed onto the couch and licked the fudge pot with Bryan. (That’s not a euphamism, by the way.  Because, damn, that’s a nasty euphamism.)

And the new house?
We close and move in on May 30th.  I am SO EXCITED, I can’t stand it.

And the new job?
I start on May 23rd.  I am SO EXCITED, I can’t stand it.

What’s new, pussycat?
Whoa whoa whoa whoa.

Anything else you wanna share?
Yes.  DSW is a mecca for my kind.  Now if we can get an IKEA, I’ll never have to travel again.
