Last night was SO needed in my world.
We dropped Binja off at Mama & Papa Bear’s for the evening, where I actually had to do the drop off. Please don’t misunderstand: I trust these people with our baby, no question. They ARE liberals from New Orleans, after all, so our child is better off THERE than in our house, most of the time. But still.. I have never done a drop-off before. I had always delegated that to Bryan.. who never noticed that he had to do every single drop-off. But now he knows.
So we got to Dolce before our reservations, so we walked around the new Bridge Street town(e) centre. I went to Anthropologie and lusted over all of their home furnishings, like the above pictured giraffe measuring set. ISN’T THAT CUTEST THING THAT EVERY HOUSE SHOULD HAVE?! I know. It is.
When we finally sat down to dinner, we were clearly people with an agenda. I ordered my drink, Bryan ordered our appetizer, we ordered our meals before the bread hit the table. In short? We were out of this fine-dining establishment IN THIRTY MINUTES. I’ve had longer meals at McDonald’s. But we ate like parents of a four-month old, who are accustomed to shoveling food in their mouths in anticipation of a crying baby at any moment. Even our server was impressed.
(I think the food was good. I’m not sure I chewed.)
(The drink, however, was FABULOUS.) (more…)
