Yes, I am tired and cranky. But there are some great things that have happened today, and I thought I should share them.
One is a precious picture of the Binja that’s on Bryan’s borrowed phone. My Nokia candy-bar phone doesn’t get reception in my secure buildings, so I thought I’d try his on the fancy new “3G” network. (Hooray! It works!) His phone is also a camera phone, which we’ve recently been approved to have onsite. He snapped a picture of Binja where the grin has absolutely taken over his precious face, and it makes me happy all day long. I tried to email it to myself so I could share it with you, but alas, no luck. Just imagine Care Bears smothered in pulverized Strawberry Shortcake and topped with Smurf sprinkles. THAT’S how cute it is.
Secondly, I’ve been on my diet for exactly a week now. Granted, I’ve slipped up for two meals (our Dolce dinner.. which was actually not bad at all, calorically.. if we don’t count the tiramisu; and a grilled sub with nothing fattening at all on it), but other than that, I’ve stayed below my caloric restrictions. Today? I put on REAL JEANS. Like, not maternity-stretchy-waistband jeans. And the kicker is that they’re a size smaller than everything I tried on before I came back to work. I’m not back to my pre-pregnancy size .. or even close .. but my God: I am wearing something that zips up.
Tomorrow, I’m dining with the fabulous Kari and my boss. I love that I’m friends with my boss; I’ve said before how I tried to avoid that at all costs. But really, she’s just too cool a chick to not be friends with. And she knitted the Binja a blanket. As did Kari. I’m dining with the knitters tomorrow. Ha! ::sigh:: The lamest things are funny when you’re tired.
Speaking of, I’m stealing a joke from Tonya that TOTALLY owned me this morning.. her daughter told it to her:
Q: How do you make an Auburn fan vote against Obama?
A: Add a G to the front, and you’ve got GOBAMA.
AHAHAHAHAHA!
