Monday’s a New Day
Category: The Mommy | 9 Comments »

Since Mondays are usually crazy-hectic for me, and today promises to be no different, I wanted to post something to lift the gloom that I totally squashed upon here yesterday.

I’m really okay. Really. I just had a minature pity party all weekend that I could’ve (and should’ve) snapped out of all by myself, but I figured that may be the last time I have any reason to dedicate time and tears to myself for awhile. (Right? Cause it’s all happy when the baby gets here, right?) So I reveled in it.

My house is pretty clean. I spent two hours yesterday cleaning, so that’s really fine. And although, Mal, I typically am a HUGE fan of retail therapy, I don’t like being seen outside of the house. You can only hear “You’re HUGE” so many times in a day. (Not that it’s untrue.) Anyway, so I’m in a better place once I knocked the house out. (It’d be nice if it stayed that way, magically.)

I am, however, going to buy a book. And maybe some cross-stitching. That should help.

Anyway, if I can just get through today.. life will be better. Tuesdays are my work-at-home days, and my body SO needs that. I had to take a nap on Saturday just from taking a bath. Tell me that’s not the epitome of lazy.

Okay, so here’s a thought: what music should I have playing in the labor and delivery room? Everything I have is so girl-powery, which is fine in the gym, but Madonna’s “Human Nature” may not be appropriate in the delivery room. And there’s not a whole lot of songs devoted to sons.. save the Loggins and Messina standard, “Danny’s Song”, and that’s a bit too hippie for me. What, if anything, did you have playing? Or should I skip the entire thing and buy some whale song CD?
