Okay, I did it.

Friday night brought two of my favorite things: PoBoy Factory and great local theatre. We stopped in to see Nina’s production of Talk Radio, and THOROUGHLY enjoyed it. Sam was astounding (that part was written for him), Eric had us rolling, and Ronda totally embodied the 80s working girl. (Needed more shoulder pads, though.) Loved the various callers, and was highly impressed by the difficulty and execution of the sound cues. GREAT JOB, guys!!

Saturday was a bigger day than I thought it would be. Sure, I knew I had a baby shower at 2:00, but I thought I could just lounge around till then. I was silly. I had errands to run and the house to clean and laundry to start and.. either way, I got out of the shower at 12:45, and hoped I could just sit still till 1:15. Bryan’s family showed up about that same time.. rather unexpectedly.. and so we both flew into a panic of GET READY NOW AND GO.

The shower, however, was so wonderful. Truly. The food was great, company was excellent, and we had a fabulous time. Thank you so much to everyone who went, and a HUGE thanks to Steph, Ronda, Jamie, and Delle for making it happen.

When we lay down to sleep last night, I asked Bryan if he enjoyed the shower. He had the best answer: “I felt like we are loved.” That’s it, in a nutshell. It is so nice to know that I’m not embarking into this thing alone; we have a fanatstic support system of people who love us and are willing to laugh at us along the way. Because that’s what a good support system does, in my book.

OH, and can I mention the football game?! By far, the most amazing two minutes of Alabama football I’ve seen in the last four years. (Minus Prothero’s catch. Dayum.) Bryan and I gnoshed on fried pickles and smoked gouda grits, courtesy of Wings (where we usually spend at least two quarters of any Alabama game). I gotta tell you, cheese grits and my baby LOVE eachother.

Today, we started off boldly, with both of us “nesting”. Bryan lifted up furniture and vaccuumed while I got the nursery in order. Around noon, I had the most AWFUL pain start. It knocked me off of my feet pretty badly. We tried to run some errands after that, but everything ended with me losing all color in my face and coming close to tears from the pain. It just felt like Tony was stuck in some part of my lower abdomen. It doesn’t make any sense, because I would say he was stuck in a rib or something.. but clearly, there are no ribs down that low. A quick call confirmed exactly what it felt like: the baby has dropped and is stretching out my ligaments down there.

I spent the evening resting in what Bryan has dubbed my “throne”: our new glider and ottoman purchased today thanks to Mama and Papa Brown. It’s a piece of furniture Bryan had to convince me to buy (”I can sit in our kitchen chair and nurse. Cause I’m a martyr.”), and I haven’t left it since he put it together. Our house looks so different now; we have a baby swing in a corner, a glider over here, a crib and a changing table in the nursery, and baby clothes everywhere. If I didn’t know better, I’d think someone around here was having a baby.

I think it’s me. (Tee hee hee.)

All other pictures from the shower were taken by passersby, because Bryan felt the need to snap a picture of me while I was crazily trying to get ready because we had unexpected visitors show up 45 minutes early to our house and not the house hosting the party.

He had to die.

More pics to follow. Most of which feature me clothed.

I know, I know.. I totally owe you a post.  I owe you several, because it was a long weekend with many great things (and pictures!) to share.

However, my Mondays are always insane, and this Monday is no exception.  It will most likely be tonight before I can get anything worthwhile up.. but that will include pictures.

In the interim, let me just say: ROLL FREAKIN TIDE!!
