Hoofing: It’s What’s For Dinner

My head is killing me in a way that non-pregnant people can’t understand.  Or, more specifically, non-pregnant people who weren’t smart enough to have their wisdom teeth removed at a decent age.  My head hurts so badly that it woke me up.  I took two Tylenol before bed (TWO!) and it still hasn’t subsided.  The doctor gave me a prescription for loratab.. but something about that just doesn’t feel right.  I can’t have an ibuprofen, but here, take a prescription strength hydrocodone.

Had a BLAST last night.  It has been years, most likely, since I went to see a show with Delle, and we had the new addition of John with us.  I like John because he wasn’t raised in the Guffman world of community theatre, so he calls it like he sees it.  Delle and I, of course, will forever be Waldorf and Statler; we watch the world from our balcony seats and grumble.

We also saw LOTS of people there, some of whom I haven’t seen in years.  It was very cool, and nice to get out of the house.

Rather than give a blow by blow of the show, I want to call out what stood out to me the most: the set.  It was GORGEOUS.  I actually took pictures of it because I wanted Bryan to see what Mark had done.  It was just fabulous, and looked very expensive and lavish on a Playhouse stage.  Kudos!

Costumes were a fresh new spin, hair was amazing, and the orchestra was phenomenal.  Nina is beautiful on stage, Doc definitely held her own, and Gaylen had me rolling.  We had a great time.

So to the cast of 42nd Street, your hard work was evident as you hoofed, sweated, and sang your way through two and a half hours of dance.  A sizable acheivement for the Chorus, no doubt.  I can’t wait for next summer. (Cause I miss being up there.)

And now.. more Tylenol.
