Midday Bummer

I had really wanted to take a trip .. our “babymoon”, as it were .. over the Labor Day long weekend.  I was planning on taking that Friday off, and trying to finagle a way to spend the few days in New Orleans while I could still travel comfortably.

But it looks like I’m going to have to work that Friday.  I’m trying not to be bummed.  It’s just.. well, it’s the first time in YEARS that we’ve had Labor Day weekend childless (and obviously the last), and I had such grandiose plans about how to spend it. (Cafe du Monde came to mind.)

Ah, well.  It’s why I get paid the big bucks, right?

I would love to say this study gives unfair results, but as someone who’s seen both sides of the coin, I can’t help but agree with it.

So Glad It’s Friday.

F-R-I-D-A-Y.

Oh, it couldn’t come fast enough, that’s for sure.  It was a hectic week at work, which screwed up my schedules fiercely.  I was late to two meetings yesterday because I thought it was Wednesday all day.  And this morning felt like Saturday.  Go figure.

When I finally realized it was Friday, I got excited.  That means we go see 42nd Street tonight!  Hooray!

Last night, I spent a good deal of time over in the Target promenade, which is my way of tricking myself into exercising. (It’s walking, but under the guise of shopping.) Nothing makes me feel as old and reminiscent as school starting.  All of those young faces — the ones that seem to get younger every year — shopping for a new year.

Well, I SAY that nothing makes me feel older, but one of my high school buds notified me last night to go to her MySpace page, where she has posted TONS of pics of us in high school.  Oh my dear God.  I was so BLONDE.  And my hair was so long.  And why didn’t anyone tell me that my clothes were gross?  It amazes me that any man was ever interested in me.

I found a new craving.  Archer Farms (Target-brand) Blueberry Tangerine water.  Tastes SO good.  No calories, no carbs.  Awesome.  Cheaper than a black iced tea lemonade from Starbucks.  By, like, $80 or something.

I’ve rambled on long enough.  I’ll ramble more later.
