Let me start this week’s bulletin by updating the new news: Lil Peep does not like Mexican food. At. All. I cooked some KILLER chicken enchilladas last night and woke up an hour after I had fallen asleep, choking on my own bile. Needless to say, it was a long night. I think we’ve hit the point where I really can’t eat spicy foods anymore.
OHMYGOD, I’m halfway through the pregnancy. Isn’t that insane? That means that we’re on the downhill slope.. there is a baby coming. Insane. Truly.
A week from today, we go into the gender ultrasound to find out the gender of the baby. I’m VERY excited about this, so we can go ahead and name the baby. Or at least narrow it down to five or something.Â
The baby kicks regularly now, but still weakly enough that Bryan can’t feel it. I’ve read on more than one occasion that my appetite is supposed to be increasing, but I haven’t noticed it. If anything, it’s leveled off. I’m making a huge effort to exercise, and that’s helping me sleep. What really helps? Swimming. Feeling weightless makes me feel SOO good. Of course, that’s happened about once a month.
We’re going to look into birthing classes in the next week. Basically, I don’t want to do some long, drawn-out eight week course. If they offer something that is a one-day, Saturday class, I’m all about it. But I don’t need to watch an episiotomy, and unless there’s a massage at the end of it, I don’t need to learn to breathe. But we’ll be touring our hospital soon to get a good layout of the land.
My energy is better now. I still nap quite regularly (because why wouldn’t I?), but I’m not dead-tired anymore, which is nice. I got through last week without too much exhaustion and crabbiness. (SHUT UP, BRYAN.)
For those of you newly pregnant, or thinking of becoming pregnant, I promised I would write a post about what I’ve learned thus far. That will be coming later this week.
Tremble with anticipation.
