I HATE this.  HATE it.

Bryan and I both have hearts that exceeds our wallets and our brains.  Especially when it comes to animals.  All of our animals are strays, and we constantly bemoan the fact that we have TOO MANY ANIMALS in the house.

However..

.. we constantly watch (and by we, I mean “me”) The Critter Corner on Knology Channel 11, and I want to adopt ALL of the puppies on there.  Especially if they look like “a good dawg” (and they all do) and they have some really tragic story behind their being there (and they all have those, also).  But every time, Bryan swats down my desires by reminding me that we have two dogs already, and we don’t walk them often enough, and we’re horrible pet owners, and we often joke of making rugs and slippers out of the dogs we already own.  So I sulk and cry over the puppies.

Bryan left for Atlanta yesterday afternoon.  He called me about two hours after he hit the road with an odd tone in his voice.  “I have a conundrum,” he says.  “A family just dumped a cat in a dumpster.”

Well, hell.  What am I supposed to say to that?

He says she’s incredibly sweet, and probably not even a year old.  I hear her mewing in the background, a pitiful sound befitting of a poor creature who has just been abandoned by probably the only family she’s known.  “We don’t need another cat,” I warn him, but he’s sold.  He announces that he’s taking her with him.  He will figure out what to do in Atlanta.

(Admittedly, he does know the area and has family there and there are probably a dozen resources for him.  And I probably couldn’t have left the cat either.)

Then he sends me this, to further drive home how cute she is:

And did I mention we’re both suckers for tabbies?

Later, I’ve walked the dogs (as if to prove that we could take another dog, too.. NEVERMIND THE BABY) and have hardened on my position that we do not need another cat.  Then he sends me THIS one.

OHMYJESUSGOD.  That is the cutest cat ever.

So.. when he brings her back here.. does anyone need a cat?
