Excuse the Absence

Okay, first of all, I don’t know WHAT is up with my website.  First off, I can’t even open the damn page on my laptop. (I’m on Bryan’s machine at the moment.) So I email my host support desk.  They say it’s Knology’s issue.  Knology doesn’t know what the hell I’m talking about.  And even now that I’m on a different machine, nothing is loading correctly.

This pisses me off for various and sundry reasons, the most important being that I have such crucial and vital information to pass on to you, and they’ve all been masterfully crafted and shaped to be funny, concise, and well-written.  However, since I’ve been unable to jot these thoughts down, you may be slighted some very verbose antecdote.

Pity, isn’t it?

First on my list – to the blonde wearing a cat-sweater and man who is quickly balding who sat near the sushi bar at Edo’s on Friday night: get the fuck OFF your high horse and tip your waitstaff.  I sat there, wishing I had ordered sake, as this couple debated how much money to tip their wait staff.  15%, the lady admitted, is far too much in her mind.  That’s just so much money, she said.  The man agreed, saying, “It’s not like it’s their income.“  Oh, right, the $2.15 an hour that the make is what pays the rent.  The tips?  Just a bonus, so feel free to skimp on it.  MUTHA FUCKAS.  OHMYGOD.  If you don’t want to tip, that is certainly your American right.  Go to McDonalds.

Second: my new hairstylist, Andi, is fabulous.  She is a normal person, who had a martini on her breath when I sat down in her chair.  I said, “I’m growing my hair out.”  She ran her fingers through my hair and said, “Oh, hell no, you’re not.”  And she gave me an AMAZING cut.  And we laughed the entire time.  And she remembered my name the entire visit.  So go visit Andi at Dillards, so she’ll stay.

Thirdly: I fell in love with my husband all over again today.  Why?  Because we auditioned together.  There is just something so nice about doing something you both love while in the same room.  And, admittedly, I’d never seen him perform before, and he’s damn good at it.  We had a blast at Pinocchio (how the hell do you spell Pinochio?) auditions, and hung out with some awesome people.  There’s just something so fantastic about being a talented couple who are both good at what you do.  Not everyone enjoys that.

Lastly: everyone had something nice to say about my hair today, but my favorite came from the ever eloquent Jeff, who said, “Did you cut your hair?  It looks really cute.  I mean, it looked like hell before, but now.. it’s great.”  Thanks, Jeff.  Much love.

I also got my new wedding ring (a puzzle ring! it’s awesome!), and we went and hung out with some fantastic Theatre Huntsville folk for a little bit tonight.

Tomorrow, we have nothing on our schedule.  Other than me yelling at Knology a bit more.

Sorry about the cussing in this post.  I’ve been a bit.. angry for the past few days, and tonight didn’t really help.  Damn Jeff.

Good times. :)
