In my attempt to remain awake today without any convictions of darwinian homicide, I was reading rottentomatoes.com, which is a collection of reviews for all movies. And while checking out a movie I was already iffy about, I read the most fantastic review I’ve ever read. Here’s a snippet:
This movie is worse than flying from JFK to Singapore in the middle seat between two chatty Scientologists. It’s worse than do-it-yourself rhinoplasty. It’s even worse than college improv.
I’m glad he hasn’t come to see my last few shows, but damn, I hope he keeps writing.

I knew I was feeling bad.
I knew I was feeling bad when I got hungry and my apple didn’t look good. I LOVE FRESH FRUIT, and when I’m well, fresh fruit and vegetables are the biggest treat I can award myself. I looked at my fiji apple today and thought, “Man.. I wish that were a big ole bowl of pasta and butter and cheese.”
But I ate it anyway.
And I knew I was feeling bad when something hard hit my teeth. I thought, “Man, what is UP with this apple?”
It was a seed.
I had eaten the core. Straight thru.
I don’t think I’m feeling well.
In other news, I am leaving early today to go home and sleep.

I am feeling like poo this morning.
I got a wild hair last night to clean house. (Okay, so it’s not so wild and not so unexpected, but it happened nonetheless.) I finally got our dining room table visible, our kitchen is now box-free, and the living room looks like it should.. meaning you can sit anywhere and feel comfortable that you’re sitting there, and not that you need to go through a CDC detox.
Unfortunately, this expedition brought up dust and allergens that my body has not seen before. And today, this morning actually, my body fought back. And lost. My throat is SO swollen that I’m gagging on my own .. whatever’s back there. So I’m sipping green tea with lemon and honey and praying that Mayzie will still be ama(y)zing tomorrow.
Cause she’s not right now.
But, for some good news.. my house was BLISSFULLY silent last night. Not a nail gun, not a hammer, not even a bark from my own living room. Nothing. I’m not sure I even rolled over last night. My back says I didn’t.
And that’s really all the news I have from over here. My house is getting live-able. My sleep was deep and quiet. I missed having someone hold me while I fell asleep. That’s all.
Feel informed.
