Although today could very well turn out disasterous, I wanted to share how incredibly perfect last night was.

When I got home, around 6, Bryan was ready to go.  We headed out having no idea where we were going.  Our first stop was Chilli’s.. but we couldn’t even find a parking place, so we opted out.  Then he suggested Ding How.. which we haven’t dined at since the first time I met The Boy.  We thought that’d be a nice full-circle.  Food was EXCELLENT, although we were quiet, and I was exhausted.

He was all about ice cream when we left, but I am not the kind of girl who can leave dinner and then scarf down dessert.  I have to “walk off the full” or something.  So we decided to head up to the Jones Valley Target center and browse life up there.  Our first stop was Bed, Bath, and Beyond.. in which Bryan completely mortified me by breaking a collapsible strainer. (Admittedly, it was funny.) So, lesson learned?  Things that SAY unbreakable are not challenging you to do so.

We then wandered into Target, where we became squatters in the lawn and garden center.  When you find a patio set you want, but you don’t want to pay $700 for the whole thing, I’m of the belief that if you sit there long enough, they should give it to you.  We tried; it didn’t work.  However, we did find a rug and a bedset that I think we’re gonna add to our registry.  Isn’t that weird.. I had forgotten we even had one until last night.

Then, I did the unthinkable.  I went to the bathroom.  In Target.  I mean, it wasn’t a matter of choice at that point, I could only wait long enough for the baby that I had seen go in to come back out.. I didn’t want the child scarred for life.  But I did it.  Bryan asked afterwards how I thought it turned out, and I said, “Fine.  But I’m pretty sure I pulled a thigh muscle from holding my feet up the entire time.”

By that point, I had made enough room for ice cream.  We stopped in at Shoe Carnival on the way and I found THE CUTEST pair of truffle-colored shoes.. but, of course, I wouldn’t ask my bridesmaids to stand in four inch heels through the wedding.  But damn.. they were cute.

We went to ColdStone, where the precious JD was working.  We people watched while we ate (and ColdStone brings in a very odd assortment), and then headed out.  We stopped in to talk to Big Dave for about an hour about his sudden involvement in every Fantasy show EVER, and then headed home.

It was an evening of no committments.  We got to see people we knew and talk to them about life.  There was happiness about my wedding instead of dread and the unknown.  We came home, took the dogs for a long walk, and then curled up in bed.  He rubbed my head and I fell asleep.  It was perfect.

Incredibly boring to you, yes.  But perfect to me. :)
