Why EVERYONE should go to college
Category: The Unexplainable | No Comments »

You know, you can shout from the rooftops about the glory of homeschooling, but I think EVERYONE should go to college, and recent reports back me on this.

See the University of Michigan students make use of good study habits.

I just don’t hear homeschoolers with the same results.

I feel better.

I don’t know what flipped my switch, but it’s like night and day.  I just feel better.  I had a big bowl of angel hair pasta with parmesian cheese for dinner (along with garlic bread), was treated to a shared half-pint of Dulce du Leche in front of a roaring fire, and then we did Christmas cards well into the night.  And I just feel better.

Our tree is actually quite beautiful.  It’s a very large fir, and it’s the first time in several years that I’ve actually had a tree with colored lights and ornaments on it.  The BitterHouse usually had a themed tree (usually woodland.. berries.. twigs.. flowers), and only white lights.  It was GORGEOUS, but I’ve come to love this tree too.  It just looks festive.  And child-like.  It’s covered in plain, brightly colored glass balls.  I’ve gone ahead and put the BitterHouse flowers on there.  It’s a mesh of old and new.  And I like it.  Bunches.

There is a child in my house today.  I’m slowly becoming accustomed to that.. and make no mistake, it’s QUITE a change.  He had an accident at school yesterday (goofing off in the little boy’s room), which required a trip to the ER for his parents, and finally climaxed with a staple to the head.  Another thing I’m slowly becoming accustomed to?  Children do not take teasing as well.  Calling him “Staple-Head” may not be the way to go.  Even if you follow it with, “And his trusty side-kick, Paper-Clip Man.”

I’m ready to begin Christmas shopping now.  I think I’ve got a pretty good grasp on what I want to get everyone.   The hard part is not going overboard on The Boy.  It’s very easy to blow most of the “present budget” on him, so I’m showing a lot of restraint in not.  Cause I’d hate for it to appear like I’m trying to buy his love.. even if I am.  A little bit.

I missed “The Office” last night.  And I’ve missed “Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown” TWICE now.  With any luck, we’ll be able to catch “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, and I’ll feel complete.

Dah-hoo, dor-ray, fah-hoo, for-ray.. welcome, Christmas.  Bring your light..
