“All good things come to those who wait.” - tis true! Doesn’t make waiting any easier, but it does make the reward that much more delicious.
Well, Katrina is through. There were some rough winds last night, that’s for sure, and my neighborhood looks like a war zone. Trees, limbs, leaves, debris EVERYWHERE. But we made it through.
Hunkered down with “Hide & Seek” last night, arguably the most stupid movie I’ve seen in a while. You just have to think that a movie with Robert DeNiro, Dakota Fanning, Famke Jensen, and Elizabeth Shue would have some sort of amazing stuff in it, but really, it just irritated us. You know it’s not good when the main characters are faced with mortal danger and the audience is yelling, “Just kill them! Get it over with! Jesus!”
The pictures of the devastation from Katrina are just heartbreaking. And it looks like the worst is not yet over for the Big Easy. Keep them in your prayers.
MaMa will probably be going home today. They’ve put a stint in and it seems to be working; she’s gaining strength back at an admirable pace. Jenni, however, they’re probably keeping for a little longer. They still don’t know what they’re fighting. I just want her HOME.
Thanks, K, for your help. That was PERFECT.
I’ve entered a very noncommital phase in my job. I just don’t care. I’m tired of being annoyed over trivial things like mousepads; I want to get my hands dirty with real things. I finally exploded yesterday at the poor Christopher guy. He is having a new desktop installed, and I’ve CC’d him on any and all correspondence with IT, so we’re all on the same page. Yet he CONSISTENTLY comes by to ask me about it. I finally asked him yesterday what his workload looked like, and if he obviously needed more to do, and if I could assist him by telling his manager that because he knows EVERYTHING THAT I KNOW about his silly little desktop and that I’ve done ALL I CAN DO, and would you just PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE FOR ONE SINGLE DAY? Liz laughed. She said, “Sarah, you silly girl. He is obviously not coming by about a computer. He is crazy about you.”
I don’t care. Crazy does not suit me.
I think it’s time for a long weekend for Sarah. I’m ready for Jenni to be home, HERE, and my MaMa to be home, and for the Lee drama department to have some stability.. ::sigh:: Just three more work days. I can hang.
