From another blog, in another lifetime:
Do you ever watch the dynamic of people at an audition?
Granted, I haven’t been to one recently, but I’m always very conscious of how people place themselves at an audition. I know exactly what I do.
I walk in quietly. I might greet the people closest to me, but on the whole, I try to say very little. I will sit apart from everyone else. And I won’t utter a word.
Because you learn a lot about other people by watching quietly from a corner. I’m not saying glare; I’m not saying you should stare them down to the point where they can feel your eyes on their skin.. but pay attention. Because if you’re quiet enough, eventually.. one of them will talk so loudly that you can’t help but overhear..
.. and then, oh, the power you hold ..
Because the ones who cry so loudly usually have reason to do so..
It’s the best high on earth.
