Well, as I suspected, I was NOT chosen for the cast of L5Y, and as I suspected, I am really okay with it. I walked away knowing I was not the strongest vocally there, and JRB deserves to have his stuff BLOWN OUT OF THE WATER. So I am serving as stage manager and singing in the pre-show cabaret concert. And although it sounds like sour grapes, I’m happy with this arrangement because it involves little to no rehearsal time and I can choose my songs. Life is good. He wants torch song classics. I have three that I can pull out ("A Kiss to Build a Dream On", "You Don’t Know Me", and "Someone to Watch Over Me") and life is good.
I need a nap. We did not sleep well last night. Bryan couldn’t turn his brain off (we HAVE to stop having such serious discussions over pillow talk), and I was afraid to fall asleep for the fear I would freeze to death in my sleep. As a result, we are both dragging.
It turns out that my furnace requires a pilot light. Who knew?
What other classic torch songs can you think of?
Miss Katie Lynn Broad is ADing the show, and I’m very excited to hear that. Bill and I both agreed that she’s talented far beyond her age.. almost to the point of being a freak of nature. (I mean in the kindest way possible, KLB.)
She laughs at midgets, people.
I don’t. I just try to run them over. Unsuccessfully. I am such a failure!
