It’s been an insane kind of week, which is really just an extension of a couple of really insane weeks, and as I told my poor sweet manager today, “I’M TAPPED OUT OF MY USUAL KINDNESS AND PATIENCE RESERVES.”
I had written a pretty emo post, involving a butterfly in a mason jar – AND I KNOW HOW STUPID THAT SOUNDS, BUT GEEZ – and I found myself grinding my teeth the entire way home from work.
And then. Then I picked up that durn kid of mine and he asked me to roll down his window. “Put it down ALL THE WAYS, Momma.”
He has still not outgrown making everything plural, and he does it all the times. As a result, we say “all the times” all the times.
And he leaned as much as he physically could of his body out of the window as the southern summer breeze blew over him.
“Sometimes,” he said with his mouth full of the deluge of breeze, “I just needs some airs.”
And so I realized I did too.

WINNER! Today is the WINNER of the Relish.com giveaway, and I’m so excited, because this week I’ve made Beef Sukiyaki Noodles with Spring Rolls AND Buttermilk Rosemary Chicken with Garlicky Green Beans and I was very sad that I was the only adult home tonight, because I had Chicken Curry in a Hurry queued up, but it seemed silly to cook for just me.
So! Without further ado!
Kakaty was my winner! And she was also planning on making the Buttermilk Rosemary Chicken, so I hope she’s enjoying her two week free trial! (I hope everyone is!)
Kate, I’ll be sending you an email shortly with more details.
I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend, full of fresh airs.

Yay! I’m so excited. I totally need this right now. Maybe with meal planning becoming more simple I”ll be able to get some more airs
I love this. I love listening to my boys find their own voice, even though it’s still pretty heavily laced with my own words coming back at me. It’s sometimes daunting to realize the influence we have – but then it’s okay when moments like this happen and we see it works both ways.
Yeah.
Wise little dude… I love this.
