The weather here. OH THE WEATHER HERE.
It’s been weird, since last year this week, we were under a ice-and-snow lockdown. Literally. Tony and I spent a week solid looking at eachother and cursing eachother’s existence because we couldn’t leave the house. And even in the south, snow loses its luster after a day or two. We made snow cream, we built a snowman, and we were OVER IT.
This year, we’ve had three weeks of rain and fog. Which is just weird. We don’t live in Seattle, we don’t live in the northeast, WHY IS THIS HERE? Now, it’s not been cold, which I guess is a good thing, but it’s been dreary. DREARY.
And my floors? With three dogs and a mosh pit in the backyard? Let’s not even talk about my floors. I finally couldn’t take it anymore last night and mopped. It will be the first of several attempts to clean the floors before my in-laws arrive tomorrow night, but it had to be done.
There is no sunshine! None! We occasionally get a break in the clouds for just a second, like that picture up there. But for the most part, it’s just yucky. Just yucky and gross.
It’s especially awful because it’s already the shortest daylight of the year. Even in prime conditions, it’s most likely dark when we wake up and it’s dark when I leave my office. Assuming there’s no clouds. So when there’s not even sunshine on my lunch break?
We are dosing up on Vitamin D like no one’s business.
For those of you in the feed reader, come look at my new layout! Since we can’t leave the indoors, I set my time to good use! Many thanks to Lisa for her assistance – visit her Etsy shop for really cute designs! She’s a good egg.
