I had a pretty good inkling today would be a wasted day.
Daddy called me yesterday about the storms. Of course, I assumed this storms that he was talking about were in the present. But no.. Huntsville had started to prepare an entire day early for thunderstorms. Slow news day, I thought.
Then, this morning, as I was showering at 6:10 a.m., a school closed. Like, you know.. no school today. Why? Because of the storms.
I had been at work over an hour (barely) when schools started closing early, left and right. Why? Because of the storms.
So I started to worry. I went outside.
.. in the sunshine.
Now, you people can judge me and recite your metereologist bullshit, and tell me that warm weather is a tornado’s wet dream because the warm front and the cold front dance and make tornados. (The dancing part was for you, Delle.) But it’s GORGEOUS outside. Yes, to the north of us, it looks colorful on radar.. but Huntsville appears safe.
In other (related) news, there will be no classes at The Anvil Tree tonight, due to weather.
