Tanks, Easter Bunny!

Wow.  Weekend?  What weekend?  What is this “time off” that you speak of?

I barely had time to breathe.  I had the kind of weekend where I didn’t do squat with SparkPeople, and I can’t remember enough about my weekend to try and recap for my calorie count.  It was just one of those weekends.

I could go into the horrendous event that was Friday night, but instead, I’ll just say that on Thursday night, I went and saw “The Crucible”.  Admittedly, Miller is not one of my favorite playwrights.  “All My Sons” was really his only piece that I liked, and “The Crucible” just rings a bit too loudly for my tastes.  You grow up in the southern baptism of the south, and you can label the characters.  That doesn’t help me connect with the show.. it really just creeps me out.

BUT, having said that.. it was really a nice show.  As always, my hot(t) TD fiance made a fantastic set with some gorgeous lighting.  And there were some amazing standouts in the cast.. EB, Lawson, and James all really surprised me.  Cassidy was flawless in her portrayal of Crazy Abigail.

Anyway, so then Friday night was a baseball game.  Where there shouldn’t have been one.  It was one of the more frustrating events in recent memory, and a glimpse into the mind of true martyrdom.  It, quite frankly, disgusted me.  Long story short, they got creamed in the game, which really made it a waste of my time.

Saturday was nuts.  Rehearsal was for naught in the morning.. which is SOOOOO irritating.. then I went and played Easter Bunny.  Can I just say.. I do my Christmas shopping every year on Christmas Eve at Target, and it was NOTHING compared the craziness on the Saturday before Easter?  Every soccer mom within a 30 mile radius was in there, all with a cellphone attached to one side of their head, and I was fearing for my life.  Especially being a novice in this basket-making routine, and actually needing to pause and reflect momentarily.  It was scary.

Either way, I went back to the house, washed the fear off of me, and went to grab Delle.  DELLE IS HOME NOW!!  We went shopping for last minute Easter dressings, and then enjoyed lemonade and company out on her father’s back deck.  I went back home and The Boy and I had a FANTASTIC evening.. we went to the park, got all hot and sweaty, then enjoyed a movie night (with popcorn and dimmed lights) with “Zathura”. (Great flick.  Made me cry.) I put him to bed by reading said story (which opened a lovely dialogue of how, if you like a movie, you should read the book), assembled a basket.  I was FANTASTIC to not eat one single piece of Easter chocolate.. because I figured I could wait one more day.

Sunday was EASTER!!  The Boy woke us up around eight (by coming in and whispering, “I think the Easter Bunny has been here”), and we reveled in Easter fun.  We went to the park again and played frisbee as a family, and I’ve ALMOST used up that one disposable camera I’ve had since last summer.

After The Boy went back to the green for family easter egg hunts, I got a SURPRISE VISIT from the Easter Bunny!! (He was dressed, in disguise, as my dear friend Keboobalah.) He brought me: Cocoa Puffs, chocolate creme double stuffed oreos, Hershey’s Double Chocolate Milkshake, a can of Duncan Hines chocolate frosting, Lil Debbie swiss rolls with chocolate creme and chocolate syrup, a Whitman’s sampler, and a solid chocolate easter bunny.  In my excitement, I gulped the chocolate milkshake down in two minutes.. and then got gloriously ill.  My tummy has forgotten chocolate.

IT WILL RELEARN.

Then we went and looked at a house.. which was a definite NO.  We went home and took one of those GREAT summer naps (after I mowed the front lawn) where you strip down to your skivvies and sleep under a fan.  Daddy took us to Carrabbas for dinner, and then Bryan and I did something we haven’t done in a LOOOONG time.. we talked.

It wasn’t a bad weekend.. just a BUSY one.  But you know.. looking back on it.. it was actually worth the hassle.
