So.. I think it’s gonna be a long week.  Or, if last night was any indication, a slow-moving-but-short-in-duration week.

I’m not going to think about it, because I think I’ve just about acquired the apathy needed to get through this hellacious monstrosity.  I’m also going to stop speaking so negatively about it.  Because, as I was told last night, I need to lighten up.  How silly of me to worry about the quality of the projects my name is put on!

BUT THIS SUMMER IS GONNA ROCK.

So, at first, I was just so overwhelmed and jaded and tired that when I was offered the part of Mayzie, I was just all like, “Yeah, whatever.  Sure.  So I’m a bird.”  But now.. I mean, it’s a stellar cast.  And a FUN cast.  And everyone is so completely jazzed about it and ready to work and eager to start!  And, although I hate to admit it, the enthusiam is truly contagious.

I’m excited for people to come see it.  And THAT’S a new thing.  I’ll put posters up.  I’ll do my part on publicity.  I’ll carry tickets to work, so people that see me as a professional day in and day out can see me dressed in feathers.  I’m okay with this.

And, what I think is probably the coolest part, is that a whole new generation of youngins will get to know Debbie, and love her like I do.  They’ll understand where my work ethic comes from and why I’m always in awe when others don’t have that.  All of that makes me very, very happy.

And this summer, I’ll have a nephew. Another very cool thing.  And who knows? I might even plan some of my wedding! (But no guarantees.)

It’s just two weeks of hell.  I can do anything for two weeks.  Especially when there’s Seuss to come.
