Well, I promised myself that, at 11:30, no matter what else was going on, I was going to take a break to A) pee and B) write a post. I’ve been studying four different spreadsheets this morning that are causing my eyes to cross. I’m hoping this will fix that. A little.
Today is National Leave the Office Early Day. Just thought I’d share.
There is nothing more depressing than an up-to-date calendar.
Oh, wait, yes there is. A house waiting to be packed. That’s far more depressing.
Okay, I’ll stop. Things AREN’T that bad. Just a bit overwhelming. Completely do-able, just.. I hate doing one thing at a time. It’s not in me. I’m a multi-tasker. So when I have a long line of things to be done, but I can’t start one until the other is finished, it drives me NUTS. Cause I’m OCD and lame.
Happy thoughts. C’mon, Sarah.. happy thoughts. Cardio Dance tomorrow morning. I’ve been baiting Steph for weeks about this class, and we’re finally going. I’m very excited. We get to look like uncoordinated white girls and sweat. I know that sounds sarcastic, but I really am counting down the minutes. I’ve been lusting after “TurboJam” on tv, and this is cheaper and probably a bit more motivating.
My Winsor Pilates is still not here. Guthy Renker may incur my wrath soon.
You wanna talk about happy.. I had forgotten how incredibly delightful things are when you’re a child, versus how mundane and cumbersome they become when we’re adults. Take birthdays for example. Of course, when The Boy woke up this morning, we made a big to-do of his birthday, but later, after the ruckus had settled down, he was sitting in his room, dressing, and quietly singing to himself, “It’s my birthday today.. it’s my birthday today..”
The only time I sing to myself now is when I’m trying to remember something, like a phone number or a spelling. Maybe I should take a lesson from the newly-six-year-old and start singing happier thoughts.
Another happy thought.. an evening with Bryan tonight. I can’t remember the last time we had nothing to do for an entire evening. (This is not to say it’s been years, but my memory sucks.) I don’t even know what we’ll do, but just the idea is a happy thought.
I’m wearing a gorgeous shade of truffle today. My, how I do love this color..
