“We’ve comprimised our pride
and sacrificed our health.
We have to demand more
not of eachother
but more from ourselves.”
- “Deep Water”, Jewel
I always realize how busy I’ve been when I stop. And sometimes, it takes awhile for me to actually wind down enough to stop. I mean, sure, we closed on Saturday, but Sunday I spent Shel Shorting, and Monday I spent cleaning house and FINALLY getting our bedroom together.. so by Tuesday, I finally sat still. Well, for parts of it. More than normal.
Bryan and I decided to take a date night and have dinner at Carrabbas. I had my favorite (the chicken Bryan), along with a glass of white sangria and some fried calamari, all of which were perfect. And when I was nice and tipsy, we went for a walk in Big Spring Park. It was loverly.
Karma pay-off happened today. When I called and reserved the Grand Hall at EarlyWorks (back in early spring), she wrote down my name and number and said she would call if we needed to put a deposit down.
Well, life sorta got away from us since then. And we’re now picking up the wedding pieces.
I called the lady yesterday to say that we were out and about and wanted to bring her a check. No answer. Left her a voicemail. No return phone call. Then, this morning, a frantic lady called saying she was so glad I called, because she had written my phone number down wrong all those months ago…
Crap, I thought. She’s rented it out from under us.
So I had mom call, since she was the one with the credit card. And the lady said that she had 5 people wanting that exact date for weddings.
Crap.
But then the lady said, “But I have an aunt named Sarah Brown, who I love more than life itself.” So she held the date in the hopes that I would eventually call back.
Clean livin’. Pays off. Karma: it’s what’s for dinner.
