Making Lemonade and Other Cliches

First and foremost, The Boy is fine.  You can read about it at Bryan’s site, and you’ll have to, because I have been forbidden to speak about it.  Those of you who know me know that this means it’s because I have some slightly opinionated thoughts on the subject.  But, a long (and too fucking dramatical) story short is that The Boy is fine and resting at home.

No, dramatical is not a word.  But Flavor Flav uses it.

SO.  In other news, I got tired of feeling stressed and down and tired and whatnot, so we jumped into major “let’s fix our lives” gear.  And guess what?  We (contingent upon inspection) may have bought a house.  Like, we’re far enough along that the listing is no longer there.  And then?  I finally enrolled in school.  Yeah!  I know!  Sarah’s SO FUCKING STUPID TO TRY AND MOVE AND START SCHOOL WITH A NEW BABY ALL AT THE SAME TIME!  But you know what?  I do my best work when I’m busy.  Seriously.  And Lord knows life never seems to stop, so why wait for something that’ll never happen?

And we’re rethinking our dietary habits in our house.  We’re back to cooking instead of eating out (which, honestly, I love), walking a bunch, and drinking lots of water.  Okay, so I made that Dump Cake this weekend and Bryan acts like it is heaven in a baking dish. (Apparently, his momma used to make it when he was a child, so it’s a little bit of cherry-flavored regression for him.) But OTHER THAN THAT, we’re doing better with our bodies.  Because we’re really, honestly, seriously trying to perk up a bit.

Oh, and we had monkey sex.  That helped, too.

The weather here is FABULOUS.  We may take the Binja for a walk this evening to enjoy the warm sunshine while it’s still here.  But I have to say.. if we’re already hitting mid-eighties in April, we’re in for another bitch of a summer. (But at least I’m not six months pregnant in this one!)

In closing: we will be getting TiVo this afternoon.  Life is so freakin’ amazing, I can’t stand it.

Maybe it’s one of those “if you have to ask, then you don’t need to know” things, but… what is monkey sex?

  2. Gena Wilhite Says:

What are you taking in school? And who has time to have a family and work full time, much less go back to school. We are warriors, we are, and we will soldier on to bigger and better things.

I haven’t maimed any of the children that live in my house yet, but I damn sure had some close calls when I did all that babysitting in high school. Bring on the grandkids!

Gena Wilhite’s last blog post..Happy Earth Day!

@ Melissa - just hot, sweaty, primal GET R DUN sex. It was awesome. And so I share.

@ Gena - I’m not long away from getting my associate’s degree (on to my bachelors), so I enrolled to finish that up.

I’m glad that y’all are eating/living better. You’ll see you’ll have a lot more energy. Esp. with all you’ve taken on. Hey, what are you school plans? I’m not grilling, I’m just looking for ideas =)

Also, tell me more about the house. Where is it? What is it (like, bedrooms, bathrooms….)? Info please.

Hey, I just said, “What are ‘you’ school plans?” I guess I need to go back to school asap and take spelling 101.
