What a wonderful weekend it was.
Saturday was a manic cleaning of our house, which really had gotten to a seriously grody point. (Sidenote: is grody a word? Or just a southernism?)(And did you know, which I did not, that “being ugly” is also a southernism? Ra shared that with me.) The Binja went and spent the evening with Doug, whom we refer to as “Papa Bear” (Tony adores him, seriously), so Bryan could come to the closing performance of The Last 5 Years.
It was bittersweet, really. After the majority of us involved had struggled to open this behemoth for close to three years, realizing that we were fixing to close it left the leading lady and I with this sudden rush of, “What now?” We still don’t have an answer, but we at least feel that we’ve exorcised the demon. I was lucky enough to receive two BEEEYOUTIFUL bouquets of flowers, and Jenni and Greg were looking extraordinarily hott that night. I heard that CeCe was in the building, and I saw the back of her head at one point, but I never did get to hug her. Which I’ve cried about, frankly.
OH! And I saw Waterpail this weekend! He gushed about the show. Amazingly, he had never heard of JRB, so what an experience, huh?
Anyway, Sunday was just a very lazy day, which was perfect. Since we had already cleaned the house, we got to just meander about in our own slovenly fashion. There were no deadlines, no committments, no nothing that we had to rush for. When the rain moved through, we leashed up the hellhounds and unpacked the jogging stroller and we all hit the pavement for a long, leisurely walk. We came back and catnapped on the couch with Binja snoozing in his swing. It was so wonderful.
This week feels abnormal (”Abby something..”) because there is literally nothing to do. No call times, no basketball games, no doctor’s appointments. Just.. breathing.
If we can only remember how.

and sadly some of us didn’t plan ahead and couldn’t get tickets… but congratulations on selling out so many shows!
Congrats again on the show. I actually had heard of JRB, but had never heard any of the music from L5Y until Friday night and was blown away. I loved the simplicity of the presentation and how just a few well placed props allowed the singers to give the audience their full gift of singing and let the songs just wash over the viewer. And, boy howdy, do these two have that gift!!
GREAT to see you!!
I loooked for you, but couldn’t find you. The show was GREAT! Thank you.

Hey, if the weather’s nice, can Max have a play date with Charlie this weekend?
