Mom, Incognito
Category: The Diva, The Mommy |

So today I’m officially a working mom.  This means that I have TWO people to get ready in the morning.  This means I have to stick an extra half hour into my drive.  This means I have to figure out dinner before I get home, cause Lord knows I won’t have a minute to do once I get there.

This means I miss my baby.

BUT, as I knew it would be, it’s all good.  I had a mini-meltdown on Friday night with Bryan, where I cried in the dark, but then I took a deep breath and said, “Okay, I’m done being sad.  Moving on.”  And so it was.

Work has kept up its end of the bargain by absolutely smacking me upside the face when I walked in.  Since I haven’t been here since November (isn’t that NUTS?), everything’s way different and I’m playing some major catch up.  My morning tag-up is now earlier (CRAP), and I got pulled out of it THREE DIFFERENT TIMES to go put out fires that were waiting for my return.  So it’s nice to be needed and missed and good at what I do, but damn, people!

In half an hour I’m heading to check on Tony.  I brought Bryan’s picture book with me to work today so everyone can look at the pictures while I work (it saves me from having to talk to anyone), and people are just oohing and aahing over the Binja.  Truth be told.. it’s weird not being around him.

But it’s nice having this part of me back.
