I know. Y’all are probably SOOOO tired of reading about baby stuff. Quite honestly, I’m kinda tired of that being all I have to talk about. So I’ll make this short and sweet (and bulleted).

I came across this list at Babycenter.com the other day, and it totally knocked me over. There are so many things in my life that are different now that Bryan constantly finds me staring off into space and shaking my head. If you had met me five years ago and asked me where I’d be in 2008, “married with a kid” would NEVER have left my mouth. And if you had suggested “married with a kid”, I would’ve laughed at you and thought that I would never be happy that way.

Things that constantly surprise me about having a baby:

  • You turn OFF the tv. You’d rather just watch your baby.
  • Getting up at 3/4/5 a.m. doesn’t seem early anymore. It just seems like when the world wakes up.
  • You put down the camera, because you’d rather have your hands full of the baby.
  • But you NEVER have enough pictures.
  • Auditions are no longer life-altering, because you live the part you want.
  • You stop visiting the women’s clothes section and lust after newborn outfits instead.
  • You realize that even the most feminist liberals can have killer motherly instincts.

    • Okay, baby junk over. New goal for 2008: one post a day that is non-baby related.
