While the Baby Naps..
Category: The Mommy |

It’s amazing how much life has changed.

One little life has completely stolen all of my attention. If I’ve dropped off your radar as of late, I apologize. We’re now finally getting into a manageable routine that doesn’t have me wandering around like a zombie all day, so I’m slowly making my return to the world of the living. Unfortunately, it’s ass-crack cold outside, so my world of the living is confined to the heated living room.

(And, NO, I don’t think “ass-crack” is particularly cold. Mine, in fact, is rather warm. But I wanted something that left you either enthralled or appalled. Did I succeed?)

Bryan spent today at home, as we’re both just spent. We’ve done too much traveling in the past few days (although we’ve enjoyed every minute of it), and we perhaps got a bit overambitious as to how well we’d handle it. Today was spent in the house, with Bryan rearranging The Boy’s room to be more Wii friendly (note to Wordpress editor: Wii should be added to the vocabulary), while I split my day between Tony and doing press junket stuff for a show I’m involved with.

The reality has hit me that I must return to work in the near future, and I don’t know how I’ll adjust. Granted, I’ll be excited to be back in the adult realm, but .. that means I have to leave my little boy behind. That means I’ll miss out on eight hours of smiles, of belly laughs while he sleeps (does it GET any cuter than that?), of cooing at nothing in particular.. and that makes me very sad. While I know I’m not SAHM material, the month at home has made me wish that maybe I could learn to adapt. Maybe one day I’ll get freelance work that would let me be the SAHM. Lots of maybes.

In other news, I want to thank Ronda and Steve for having us over on New Year’s Eve. We SOOO loved getting out and seeing everyone again, and the new house is just fabulous. It’s perfect for parties. And babies. I’m glad we could be there for the ceremonial gathering of the party. We didn’t stay long at all, but I’m glad we stopped by.

It takes a village. I love mine.

I hate we missed the WONDERFUL party, we had a good reason! =) I’m glad you and Tony are both doing good, I can’t wait to meet him.
