“But this morning,
there’s a calm I can’t explain:
the rock candy’s melted,
only diamonds now remain.”

Yesterday was one of the days where I was so thrilled to not have to be in a theatre.

This is not to say I abhor theatre, or hold theatre in disdain, or that I will never return to it.  That needs to be said.

But yesterday was so amazing in every respect, in its mundane splendor, that I thought, “Man, how many sunsets like this have I missed because I had a rehearsal?  How many amazing full moons like this have I neglected because I had a tech night?”

I left work around five, drove home with the windows all the way down and the music up.. a pleasure I haven’t yet had in my new car.  Five Points was just buzzing with the frenzy that cool weather brings.. people walking their dogs, dipping into Star Market and Propst to pick up a few last minute dinner items, and people outside finally getting to the lawn-tending that the 100-degree temps had put off.  It was so nice to drive home in that neighborhood, in the glory that I imagined it having.

Bryan was already at home and met me at the door with a kiss.

It was nice.

Then, to quench this recent craving I have had for goat cheese, we went to Carrabbas for dinner and had WAAAAAY too much food.  Calamari Ricardo, fresh bread, lentil & sausage soup, chicken Bryan.. ohmygod, it was soo good!!  I ate way too much and we had way too much fun and everything was perfect.

We went home and walked the dogs in the AMAZING moonlight.  Last night’s moon was really something to remember.

Then we curled up for Flavor of Love.

A perfect evening.

And, I hope, one of many to come.
