Update

Okay, not really. I’m becoming a pro at “scooting down” and undressing from the waist down in front of God and country. Hooray!
Anyway, 1 cm dilated and 20% effaced. Hooray? I guess it’s progress. Last night brought a lot of painful contractions, so maybe they’re doing something. This doc was funny; when I asked him when the baby was coming, he looked me dead in the eye and said, “You know, I have the answer. Down to the hour. But you don’t have the right credentials for that information.” Ha! Okay, so humor is in short supply in the OB/GYN world.
Next week, I go see my doctor. Which feels good.. like maybe we’ve come full circle. It’s gotten down to the wire, where I’m scared to make any plans now. We have plans for dinner on Wednesday night, and that’s our last official plan until we have a child. Isn’t that crazy? We’re having a baby. Someday.
For those of you who live in our little town, tonight is a holiday to be celebrated.. PUBLIX’S HOLIDAY FEAST is tonight! From 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. (I think.. it may be six), you can stop by and get a plate of food for free. It’s fabulous. If I could stand in line, I would totally go.
