I’ve often said that Gilda Radner made me want to be onstage when I was little, and I remember this sketch in particular being a turning point in me deciding who I wanted to be. She was once asked the question, “Would you rather be beautiful or funny?”

She smiled and said, “Funny. Beautiful is just too damn hard.”

This is the Gilda who made me feel beautiful when I was being funny.
