Seven Months Stuff
Category: The Blushing Bride, The Mommy |

So, some things that they never tell you about pregnancy that I thought I would share:

  • When you hit seven months, you will balloon out.  And people will suddenly notice when you’re pregnant.  And they will ask when you’re due.  And when you mention a date that is not three weeks, but two months away.. they will look at you like you’re a monstrous freak.
  • Remember the ballooning thing I just mentioned?  It will make your life much more difficult than you thought.  As in, even wiping your ass is difficult, because you suddenly have to maneuver around this socer ball.
  • Cooking on a stove is troublesome.  Make sure all handles point WAY inward (you should do this anyway), and remember that you can’t stand right up on the stove and turn.  Or you will burn your belly.
  • Rolling over at night SUCKS.  You will soon learn to just not move.  My grunting and panting actually woke Bryan up the other night.

In other news, we had our date night last night, which was fabulous.  I made a great dinner of a lemon butter raviolli (I thought it was fabulous.. Bryan doesn’t like cheese, because he’s a freak), and then we ran off to the movies.  Last night’s flick was Shoot ‘em Up, which was.. well.. there’s a podcast coming.

(It did have the very hott Clive Owen in it.)

Because we caught the early show, we made it home in enough time to relax on the couch.  I started our Book Club book, A Year of Magical Thinking, of which I owe endless thanks to Caroline for lending me her copy.  Bryan researched his genes.  Then we went to bed.

And we woke up to fall.  Isn’t it GLORIOUS outside?!

I remember my wife just deciding to not roll over because it was too much work…

I also remember her occasionally making the effort and slapping me with her belly. She didn’t really care if she woke me up or not- I think her precise line was “This is your baby as much as it is mine, buster.”
