Yesterday was a football day.
Typically, this time of year is already inundated with football at our house: it prompts us to eat well and then nap. But this year, The Boy is playing football, so our weekends are pretty much swamped in it. I attended my first outting to watch the Mighty Titans play yesterday (the temperatures have been too hot for me to venture out before), and watched them cream some poor team from Fayetteville. The Boy played well, only sitting out for ten minutes of the entire game.
We left the game and grabbed lunch to eat in front of the Alabama game, where The Boy and I watched while Bryan dozed on the couch.
It’s pretty cool to talk football with The Boy. He’s still learning (and I sure don’t know EVERYTHING), but it’s neat to have that common ground. We sat and watched our new Saban-boy lead the Tide to a great win. (Okay, it wasn’t a great WIN. We should’ve had a much higher score against VANDY, boys..) Either way, we got a great game in.
And I love my Bitter Twin, but I have to admit it was a GREAT feeling to text her at eleven o’clock and ask if she was watching the Auburn game. Because DAYUM, they played a horrible game. It’s the first time Bryan and I stayed up that late, and with a great excuse like, “We had to watch Auburn lose to SOUTH FLORIDA,” it was TOTALLY worth it.
Tony has been moving like CRAZY for the last two days. He actually woke me up several times last night. Between him kicking and Bryan snoring, I felt like all the men in my house had turned against me. I moved into the room that we formerly called the “guest room” and slept until 10:30 this morning.. that was HEAVENLY. Of course, the coolest part was waking up to see a CRIB.
Now, the boys are finishing up homework and I’m watching the gaggle of people march in and out of the two open houses across the street. It’s been a great weekend.. one that I’m definitely sorry to see wrap up.
