Y’all should see my house.  It is a sight to behold.  The Center for Disease Control is not as clean as my house.  We went to TOWN in my house this weekend.  We cleaned everything.  It is fabulous.

So BioMom was cleaning out The Boy’s closet at their house, when she realized he had two of the exact same shirt.  She told him that she was going to take one away (for charity or disposal or whatever), and he said, “NO.  That’s for my little brother.”  And we discovered that he’s been pulling out his favorite clothes to pass on to Lil Peep.  Tell me that doesn’t melt your heart.

Has anyone else noticed the chicken that now resides in the point of Five Points?  He’s a gray and white rooster, who seems quite content to live just a street away from Tenders.  He lives on the edge, I suppose.

We had Birthday Cake ice cream from Bruster’s this weekend.  I remembered it being great ice cream, but even I was amazed at how good and rich it truly is.  I’m salivating now, just thinking back on it.

It was so much fun to see so many theatre people on Saturday night.  I feel far removed from “the community”, since I’ve been out of a show for ::gasp!:: three weeks now, with no rehearsals scheduled for a long time to come.  But everyone was so funny and happy and joyous, and it was odd for people to lay hands on my belly, and I was again thankful to have such a fantastic “community” to raise a child.

So at the doctor’s office, I asked the nurse about collecting the cord blood.  I have felt strongly about the use of cord blood in research for a LOOOONG time, and I needed some info.  She actually looked at me funny and then said, “Okay, I can give you some flyers.”  She then explained that it’s uncommon for the family to collect the cord blood.  I figured this is because we’re in a red state.  Nope: turns out, it costs $2K to collect and bank cord blood.  $2K!!  That’s the one-time payment, too; to keep the blood stored, you pay $200 a year.  Um, no.  I wanted to donate it to Michael J. Fox.  I should call him directly.

This week, I have a Coven dinner, Delle’s birthday, Bryan’s birthday, and preparation for Jack’s birthday the following weekend.  No rest for the weary.

I saw something on the news about cord blood banking. I found a link for you, http://www.nationalcordbloodprogram.org/donation/public_vs_private_donation.html I don’t know how to make it smaller.. Anyway I thought is was very interesting, it talks about private vs. public banking.

I was thinking about the cord blood banking too until I found out the cost. I wonder if there is a way to just donate it?
