This weekend brought some interesting new symptoms of pregnancy to light.  Some of them caught me by surprise (as in, “OHMYGOD, I just spit all over you”), some of them I had been expecting, and some of them were funny (maybe not at the time, but definitely later).

  • Saliva is INSANE right now.  I am producing more saliva than a fly needs to dissolve his food.  I don’t know how many times I spit all over Bryan this weekend, but it was enough that I had stopped apologizing by Sunday night.
  • I run out of breath WAAAAY quicker than I used to.  This is normal at this point, and nothing to worry about, but my morale was dashed when we walked the dogs last night and even chubby Mabel was pulling me along.  I got schooled by the fat dog.
  • Caffeine is okay.  I had read this from day one, but something about it didn’t sit right with me.  I finally gave in this last week, when I was so ill, and I feel much more normal now.  I don’t go crazy; I have one can of soda or one glass of unsweet tea a day.  But it’s a part of my life that I didn’t have to give up.
  • Sitting for long periods of time is not good.  From Steph’s reaction to this story at Cinco De Mayo dinner, I’m thinking this usually happens further along, but sitting through Spiderman 3 on Saturday night caused my feet to swell horribly.  I’m not looking forward to my 8 hour flights this next week.

The weather has made me very happy.  I’m such a hippie this way, but whenever I’m feeling WAAAY overwhelmed/down/or maybe that commerical came on again, being outside fixes it.  I like being on the earth.  I enjoy walking to dinner or sitting on our bench outside.

Dinner Saturday night was too much fun.  Great mexican spread, lots of friends (including the lovely Sara, her husband, and her gorgeous boy), and tons of laughs.  That’s what summer means to me.  I can’t wait until we can picnic at Concerts in the Park again.

Spiderman 3 was a let-down, in my opinion.  The storyline was FAR too much, resulting in a movie that felt an hour too long.  And while the visuals were amazing, you felt that substantial storyline was neglected to make room for it.  And be warned.. it gets INCREDIBLY hokey through most of the movie.  I groaned.  A lot.

All in all, our weekend of nothing was fabulous.  We slept in all weekend, I napped every day, and we did nothing scheduled.  We merely did only what we wanted to, and that is something we never get to indulge in.

Does suck to go back to real life today, though.
