Have you seen the Friends episode where Jennifer Anniston goes for her ultrasound and can’t find the baby?
I TOTALLY didn’t have that experience. My little bean wasn’t shy at all. Now, I can’t tell you which end is the head and which end is the.. not the head, but there’s the Lil Peep, showing off for the camera. At one point, Lil Peep looked like one of those King Cake babies, a perfectly tiny little person.
The coolest part? The heartbeat. It is SO fast! Lil Peep’s heart works so hard to get blood going. It was the neatest thing to watch; it looked like a hummingbird’s wings.
In other news, my OB did the FASTEST pap smear I’ve ever had done. So much so that I kept waiting for the speculum, and began to freak out when he took off his gloves. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, he was so fast that I DIDN’T KNOW HE WAS DOING IT. I don’t know if I made him uncomfortable when I gushed about his skills afterwards, but he admitted, “Ain’t no sense in prolonging that, right?”
So, I cried a little bit when I saw this…
That is so cool. Dara looked like a gummy bear in her first ultrasound. Do you think you’ll do a 4-D one?
Greg, I know. Stories of pap smears always make me cry, too.
Bryan and I haven’t talked about the 4D yet, but I think it’s a pretty safe bet that we could find a better use for the $125. That’s a lot of diapers, or baby clothes, or a haircut for Sarah.
I didn’t do the 4D — I was too cheap.
You know that a fast heartbeat is supposed mean girl, right? (How fast was fast, btw?)
Oh, I don’t know that we got a BPS or anything. It was just VERY fast. It looked.. well, like I said, like a hummingbird fluttering. It seemed to be double my heartbeat.
But when we listened, it didn’t sound that fast.
IF I remember… 160 is average… So 140 is supposed to be boy range and 180 is girl range. Can anyone who’s been my recently pregnant confirm? The nurses swear by it, but docs roll their eyes.
Recently pregnant - Heartrate at eight weeks was 167 - she was a little girl.
